Prayer Triplets

Where ever two or three gather in my name...

What is a prayer triplet? – Three people agreeing to get together and pray; and agreeing to pray for each other when they are not together.

How do I form one? Find two other people (it doesn’t have to be a triplet, but 3 is easier to organise and meet). Arrange to meet. Start to pray.

Where shall we meet? Anywhere. In one of your homes; in a cafe; anywhere you can sit together for a while. (Remember that you can meet in public; you don’t have to close your eyes to pray).

When shall we meet? As often as you like during the 14 days. Once is enough; 14 times is not too much! And don’t think you have to stop at the end of the 14 days.

What shall we pray? Share with each other anything you would like to give thanks to God for and things you would like to bring before God. Pray for your family and friends; especially that they would come to know Jesus. During the 14 days of prayer, pray that God would bless our church so that we might be a blessing.

How shall we pray? Whatever way suits you. You may feel most comfortable in silent prayer; you may want to read a prayer from a book or reading notes; you may be comfortable taking it in turns to pray; whatever works best for you.

What else shall we do? You might want to read from the Bible or share with each other something you’ve been reading from the Bible; you might find that there is a theme to your prayers – if so write it down and feed it back to Ian – it might be significant. You might have a sense that God is saying something – again feed that back. Whatever else you do, make sure you pray for each other when you are not together.
